Tree Planting on Motcombe Meadows PDF Print E-mail

Motcombe meadows tree planting

Late last year the Parish Council were pleased to announce that we had successfully applied for 1000 trees to plant on the Meadows, creating new wooded areas toward the rear of the fields to enhance the area for everyone, encourage additional wildlife, and potentially provide a source of wood in the future.

We are now planning the planting work in earnest, and clearly we cannot do this alone - a thousand is a lot of trees!  So we would like to enlist as much help as possible and are hoping that many of you in the village will turn out to help enhance this already well-used resource.  No special tools will be needed, we will provide the ‘expert knowledge’, so just bring a willingness to help - whatever the weather.  If you can come and plant just ten trees, then the job will be done in no time. Families especially welcome as it’s not all heavy work.

The date for the planting is 6/7 March. Please put this in your diaries, sharpen your spades, and watch out for more information on the notice boards and the village website (www.motcombevillage.co.uk) .  Thank you.  Simon Rogers 852370
